🧺BAY AREA! We are having a picnic this weekend and you should come hang. It’s this Sunday, April 3, starting around 1:30pm at Dolores Park in the Mission. Bring a snack and something to sit on and ready yourself for a massive (+ consensual!) squeeze from moi.
✍🏽April Writing Workshop is live! Grab your spot here (Sunday, April 24, 10am - 12pm PST). I’ve reduced the overall capacity so please be sure to sign up in advance.
Questions? Ask. I’m here and I’d love to hear from you.
Sunday night I re-downloaded Instagram which, if you can remember all the way back to Sunday, was A Very Big Night on the internet.
Good timing! I have it.
My first thought after I watched the replay and then threw my phone out the third story window was, “If a spaceship came down right now and landed in front of you, and someone/thing aboard asked if you (and Tater) would like to be taken away on a trip, what would you say?”
Y’all have one guess.
BEAM ME UP.
How’re y’all doing out there? Is it spring yet where you are?
Sending all my love as ever. You nearby folks, come picnic this Sunday?
xxoo, dani
📖Read: Forever one of my favorite weirdo brains, and yes, one of my major Life Goals is to release my inner punkass alter-ego into the world:
Even when you think you’re just shooting the shit casually, you’re still an amoeba trying to attract other amoebae for some hot… well, cell division, I guess. Maybe you’re all just hanging out, no agenda, no theme, no moral to this story, and then one of you starts talking about the problematic folds of Hanya Yanagihara’s latest novel and suddenly you notice that she’s quietly and discretely doubling her genetic material, creating two nuclei, forming a narrow waist in the middle, and then BEFORE YOU KNOW IT THAT BITCH IS SPLITTING IN HALF.
Hot. Super duper hot.
👀Watch: Friends, I would like you all to know, that this movie (I WENT AND SAW A MOVIE!) was a total and pure delight all the way through. If you need a pal to go see it with I will gladly go watch it again.
🎧Listen: Last Friday I took my mom to my favorite fancy-ish restaurant, Al’s Place (everything is delicious but if I could commit holy matrimony with their brownie, I would), which, if you’ve been there, you’ll know that one of the funnest parts of the dining experience are the fun playlists. Anyway here’s a link to their Spotify profile where you’ll find 35 (and counting) amazing, multi-hour playlists. Perusing and playing a bunch this week was an unexpected joy practice (and will helpfully help me in my attempts to break the damn Spotify algorithm that serves me up the same stuff no matter how I try to diversify).

Gaaah how is it being reconnected to the machine? I have a couple weeks left of my IG fast.
