Some of you know that I have 17 jobs. One of them is as operations manager for my friend Nevada’s facilitation, coaching and visual strategy consulting company. This week she invited me over (#perks!) to do a visual coaching session around a creative idea I’ve been holding close for the last couple of years. It was a joy, a thrill, and a total delight to see my vision brought to life.
Here’s a snapshot:
Notice how she included the fancy manicured nails on the hands 💅🏽
The visual is badass and helpful enough, and, out of her coaching, I had a couple of big breakthroughs. I adore that feeling when dots that have been floating around in their disparate orbits finally connect and I hung this up in my kitchen so as to not only keep the inspiration close but also to remind me to keep moving my work forward.
One outcome of this dot-connecting pertains to this here newsletter. You see, I have, well, issues when it comes to marketing the stuff I do. I’m working this out!—and part of that working out is to simply start talking about it, in my own way, from my own voice (one of the things that gets me stuck is comparing the way I do things to the way others do, so I’m playing around and experimenting with what feels good to me). So here’s what I’m thinking: Tuesday posts will remain as they are: personal essays about my practice and process and what I’m sniffing out across the ether. These here Friday posts will be about the work: what I’m offering, themes that emerge across client work, resource shares, tools, teachings and practices, cosas así.
Speaking of themes: something that is coming up a whole lot in sessions as well as inside my own system is this idea of alignment. I’m noticing that so many of us are at this point where we are no longer able to suffer even one fool, and that includes the fools that are still cartwheeling about in our inner worlds. This is some deep healing, spine-tingling shit y’all. And it’s these moments that remind me that alongside all the chaos and death and suffering, the great waking up walks in tandem. This is the sun toward which we are orienting; indeed, it’s already happening.
I have a few spots open for February coaching. The application closes this Sunday, so we can schedule our intro session next week before the start of next month.
If you are longing for your own inner alignment; if you feel yourself moving toward what’s next for you, but it’s still murky and you want some clarity; if you want to channel that inner urgency into designing a life you dig and has you feeling easeful more often than not—omg, let’s talk. I would love to work with you and to live the questions with you.
May your weekend be full of humble joy and little pockets of delight ✨
Shamelessly yours in adaptation, xoxo Dani
📖Read: “Apply yourself fully to the task, let go of the outcome, and your true voice will appear. You’ll see. It can be no other way.” This week’s Red Hand Files zapped right into that sweet-spot behind my solar plexus.
👀Watch: I’m thinking about retiring this one because I literally never watch anything BUT I did watch this video: “The Polyvagal Theory. Explained” by nervous system expert Irene Lyon (if y’all are into this stuff she has LOADS of free and low-cost resources) and the image at the end of the vagus nerve took my breath away.
🎧Listen: Working with a client last week, we were talking about “living the questions,” which of course led me down a Rilke rabbit hole, which then led me to this David Whyte poem, which of course I recommend listening to rather than reading, which might—if you’re like me—lead you to a little cry.
Thank you so much for being a part of this community. If you like this newsletter, please consider leaving a comment, sending it to a friend or becoming a paid subscriber. Or respond and say hi, I *always* love hearing from you.
Love this update! Also, that visual brainstorm is EPIC!! What a gorgeous artifact!
