Questions? Just ask. I’m here and I’d love to hear from you.
Good morning everyone,
Last night I saw Sylvan Esso in concert at the Greek Theater in Berkeley. As I’m sure is surprising to absolutely none of you, I was on the brink of tears the entire time. It was too much! to be together again. To see live music! To dance and sing. To look around at our upturned faces, basking in the best thing.
I am grateful for these moments of remembering how damn good it is to be human.
I’m also hella exhausted! As inspired by some first steps of a rambling inquiry I’ve entered into (and that you can read about here if you haven’t already) I’m thinking a lot about rest. This weekend, what that will look like is: as minimal computer time as possible, and finishing a book I’ve been trying to get through for months but have been forgoing in service of The Scroll™ (side note: in an effort to cull back some of my attention I bought THE CUTEST alarm clock ever #enneagram4).
My question for you: what does rest look like for you these days? Even inside little pockets you might steal away? Let us know below 👇🏽
Also: A quick reminder that sign-ups are open for my September writing workshop. The theme is Dog Days and you can register here.
Hope to see you at all the things all the time everywhere🔮
All my good everything, tuya,
dani
📖Read: adrienne maree brown, sigh: “I cannot manipulate others into collective action, into choosing life, not even with all my best words. I can only be vulnerable, I can only live into my own values, I can only invite others to join me, and to teach me.”
👀Watch: I know I share Window Swap maybe too much. It’s an important, if subtle, rest practice for me. This little scene calmed my nervous system yesterday.

I do pockets of rest, absolutely, and I like that description! One of my faves is laying down on my bed, in my bathrobe, wet & naked, to air dry after I shower. It's a special 20 minutes just for me. Clean & content. (Granted, I don't shower *everyday*, and I work for myself now so I can take an afternoon shower & rest whenever I want!) Oh, yes, I love an afternoon shower! An easy decadence.
Rest = getting into bed EARLY with a book, (not my phone), and also giving myself permission to not finish everything to "perfection" but just let it all be close enough...
