I spend a lot of time in conversation with the mechanics of change. How does it work? What does it take? How, exactly, does it happen?
Most interestingly to me lately: how do you know it’s happening?
Sometimes change happens fast, overnight, in a flash, just like that. In these moments, you know change is happening because it’s obvious, glaring, undeniable. But when we’re trying to change our lives, this type of change is rare. I find that most of the time, change happens slowly, slowly (sometimes agonizingly so), incrementally over time, until one day you look around and everything is new.
Recently, across a few different spaces I occupy, I’ve been noticing people sharing about small and humble things that are making a difference for them, and then following up with this tendency to almost apologize for it, like it isn’t impressive enough.
This quick little note is to remind us that these moments of kismet, happenstance, coincidence, serendipity (so many pretty as hell words) are lanterns on the path. They are signals that our efforts are working. That we are indeed where we are meant to be. That we can trust the path, that we can trust our own knowing to light the way.
THAT IS IT, Y’ALL! I started some new projects this week and sadly didn’t get much reading in.

✍🏽 "Beverley Schottenstein was 93 years old when she decided to go to war with the biggest bank in the U.S.” Her maniac financial advisor grandsons tried to take advantage of her and she caught up!
