Last call for SUMMER CAMP
Learn to *listen and respond* instead of getting dragged along. We start tomorrow.
I’m going to jump right in because life is insane and I am JUICED:
I created SUMMER CAMP because every time I go online or look outside or attempt to simply EXIST AS A DECENT HUMAN IN THE WORLD, I am overcome by an excruciating amount of noise. SUMMER CAMP is a counteraction, a way to reclaim attention and agency during this moment in history that demands we obsess ourselves with everything except for what is right here as the most high priority, urgent thing we can do.
And yeah, I understand that a cute little online course is not going to keep the Titanic from hitting the iceberg. But I do believe it is a way to practice living in a way that is creative, centered, and fortified from the inside—all of which are qualities that, I don’t know, seem pretty important at the moment.
I do not want to be at the mercy of forces that seek to keep me afraid, scared, and—grossest of all—upholding a status quo that is just yucky AF for 99.9% of us. I want to have a say in where this ship is headed, and I have no chance of showing up in a way that is helpful and productive if I spend all my time freaked out and scrolling so hard that my wrist starts hurting (yes this happened to me recently).
I want to listen and respond; I refuse to be dragged along.
So I’m dropping into your inbox on a Sunday with a final call for Self Made’s inaugural SUMMER CAMP. We begin tomorrow—Monday, July 15th. That’s when the first video lesson drops, and you’ll get access to a private Slack channel, information about booking your 1:1 sessions with me, and registration links for our optional weekly community calls.
Summer Camp is a flexibly structured, hybrid course for people who are curious about reducing external distractions, and experimenting with getting intentional about where and how to place their attention, energy, and focus. For 5-weeks, participants will commit to a daily practice of their choice (an adventure, because it’s summer camp), have the option of connecting with a community of fellow experimenters both live and asynchronously via weekly calls and a private Slack channel, and dive deep with two focused 1:1 coaching sessions with me, your pal Dani.
Weekly lessons are short and sweet, and include a simple teaching, plus suggested contemplative practices (think journal prompts, weekly lesson-specific meditations and visualizations, and lots of other resources, including a values workbook I’ve spent the last three years refining). These lessons are recorded so you can take your time and listen when you have time and space
I’ll leave you with a quote that sums up the aim of this program, and truly the aim of Self Made, of my whole life~
“I am not trying to win the awards of a system built to fail, but I am trying to love myself through the process of dismantling it, keeping generativity at the center of my days and ways of being in relationship to myself and my life.”
Pisces July 2020 (!) horoscope, Chani Nicholas
