Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, a manufactured holiday that offers a great opportunity for reclamation—and who doesn’t love a good reclamation?
For the past bunch of years, I have chosen to pass this day in celebration of friendship, which is the #1 most important, life giving, energizing, sustaining, grounding, delightful force in my life.
Today I want to amplify the work of three of my favorite humans and closest collaborators, plus a bonus amplification that may or may not belie something I’m not sure I’m ready to admit publicly about my current understanding of the world (aka I broke up with the atheist and the pendulum has swung me…you know where).
First up: My friend and writing mentor, Christopher DeLorenzo, just made his way over to Substack and I’m so excited to share his work with all of you.
If you’ve ever attended one of my writing workshops, it’s Chris who not only taught me everything I know about the specific style of workshop I teach, but also modeled the most inclusive approach to facilitation I have ever participated in. Check out his newsletter for his stellar words and writing prompts, as well as an abundance of dessert recipes (Chris is also a talented baker and is the author of a gorgeous memoir cookbook).
I wrote, briefly, about my experience of meeting Chris, and the impact of stepping into his weekly workshop, just a few weeks ago (you can check that post out here). I know this might sound hyperbolic but I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I’d never met him. It’s truly an honor to share him and his work with you here.

Segundo: Next up! I’m thrilled to share the work of another dear friend and colleague, Anne Marie Cribbin.
Although Anne Marie and I are forever (trauma) bonded by our experience with our former employer, what truly places us firmly and permanently in each other’s orbits is that we found each other in the early days of recovery. Anne Marie is my favorite type of human: deeply wise and profoundly irreverent.
In addition to her 1:1 client work, she’s the founder and creator of The Wellspring, a year long group program that incorporates the Celtic calendar as a framework for an ongoing recovery practice.
Anne Marie is also a talented writer. I guarantee that the essay she posted this week, The Taylor Swift Cardigan of Recovery, is the only Swiftie content you or the world needs (at least until her next album drops, ok?).
Check out Anne Marie’s work and writing over at Thirsty for Wonder.
Third! I present to you my bestie, Jenny Dawn Morgan, of Oh Happy Dawn photography. I also met Jenny in 2015, and she immediately became a role model to me. Something that shines through Jenny is how deeply and honestly she lives by her values, and becoming close with her inspired me to take the risk to pursue a different way of life than I’d been living. She is a brilliant photographer and specializes in weddings, particularly elopements. She also did the photos you see on my website.
She’s available for travel!
Check her out here and here and if you hire her, tell her I sent you ;)
Finally! The premise of what I’m going to share is bonkers but stay with me: if you’re curious about “An 8th Dimensional being disguised as a comedian reluctantly sharing pointers for life in the Matrix” then run, don’t walk to subscribe to this podcast. It’s about as wild and batshit as it sounds and also, I take zero responsibility for what lights up in your head-heart-body if you choose to have a go with it…
Reminder that I’m teaching a $13 workshop on 2/26. You’ll learn practical tools to help you develop and strengthen your inner authority that you can build and deepen and regenerate as you go. And also it will be dynamic and lively and we will laugh at our own absurdity and have a little bit (just a little!) of fun.
Ok per usual the final few things:
